John A. Hannah Professor of Geography, Michigan State University
An undergraduate course in physical geography was Harm de Blij's eye-opener. As a graduate student, he conducted field research in the Swaziland (Africa) Lowveld, working on the hypothesis that this 120-kilometer-long, steep-sided valley might be a southern spur of the great East African rift valley system (PhD, Northwestern University). Since then he has addressed topics ranging from continental drift to climate change and from heat summation in viticulture to rogue waves in oceans. His more than thirty books include technical, text, and trade titles and have been translated into Chinese, Russian, Italian, and other languages. In the media he vigorously promotes geography as indispensable to education, decision-making, and domestic and foreign policy formulation.

Professor of Geography and Regional Studies, University of Miami
Peter O. Muller's many works include The World Today: Concepts and Regions in Geography, Sixth Edition (2012); Geography: Realms, Regions, and Concepts, Fifteenth Edition (2011); and Economic Geography, Third Edition (1998). Dr. Muller's articles have appeared in numerous journals including The Professional Geographer, The Annals of the American Academy of Political and Social Science, and American Quarterly. His research interests focus on the changing geography of the United States, particularly new forms of suburbanization. The author of two textbooks--Understanding Weather and Climate, Sixth Edition (2012), and Elementary Statistics for Geographers, Third Edition (2009)--James E. Dr. Burt's graduate training was in climatology and quantitative spatial analysis, and he has long had research interests located at the intersection of physical geography and geographic information science. His current research projects revolve around expert systems modeling of the physical environment and knowledge discovery methods for geospatial data.

Joseph A. Mason
Professor of Geography, University of Wisconsin-Madison
Joseph A. Mason has published dozens of publications and reports both as a faculty member and as a member of Nebraska's Conservation and Survey Division. An active teacher, he has taught a broad array of courses at the college and graduate level. Dr. Mason's research centers on eolian and hillslope geomorphology; loess stratigraphy/ sedimentology; pedology and soil geomorphology; paleopedology; Quaternary landscape evolution; and geomorphic response to Quaternary climate change, with a geographic focus on the Great Plains, northern China, the central Rocky Mountains, and the Upper Mississippi Valley.

Great information for geography classes, but very dry.

Typical, run of the mill geography textbook here. Very few visuals and long, drawn-out text. Don't get me wrong, there is a ton of good information in this book, however the chapters are long, text-intensive and really dry. Not the best geography book I have had to use, but far from the worst.

Good geography start

This book is a great start for beginners in physical geography. I got it for my introductory Geography class for non-majors. It's very straightforward for someone not majoring in the sciences. It bolds certain vocabulary words to help you out. There is also an index of vocabulary words in the back. The one thing I don't understand is why it is so expensive, but that could just be me.

Tons of money just waiting to be made and these books open it up!

I loved these books. The investment of a small amount of money in these books really pays off. They lay down the groundwork for everything you need to know to start making serious cash right away. I wasn't even aware of how to play Binary options before reading these books, but now it is completely clear. Ken has a firm grasp not only on how to win the game of binary options, but also his ability to explain them in a way that anyone can understand and put them to work for themselves right away.

I have not gone through all of these bonus books but the books related to forex trading are really very useful.

While I was in search of books related to forex trading I found this book on Amazon. I was not familiar with Binary Option and also not know how it works. But after reading this book I am now well aware about it. This book helps me not only to get familiar but also tells what is right for me. This book is a set of 4 manuscripts and 5 free bonus book. I have not gone through all of these bonus books but the books related to forex trading are really very useful.

I am an investor myself, I love investing some of my savings to stocks and bonds and looking into this book, I think that the book is a great reference regarding binary options, the topic was explained thoroughly and every basic aspects has been triggered. Great read especially for those who are on interested about financial investing and are still starting out.

Love It - 4th Edition with CSS3 Coverage

Exactly appropriate for its subject matter, this small pocket reference is just what I needed, with nothing more.

It opens with the basics: a thorough coverage of import rules, display roles and positioning, among other things, in a format which did more for me than the a prior edition of "The Definitive Guide" was able to clearly express.

The second chapter lists values which can be applied to the CSS rules.

The third chapter covers selectors, in a useful reference-style manner which makes it easy for me to find several of the structures I haven't been, but that I should be using.

The final and largets of chapters lists the CSS properties along with their application, structure and description.

An index is provided in the back of the guide for quick lookup.

I find this pocket guide ideal. If I had never read the full-sized book, I would probably have been able to get by just fine with this one, though I'd have missed out on browser compatibility asides and other useful tidbits not found here. I completely recommend this pocket reference. It's everything I had hoped it would be, but if you already know CSS, then don't expect it to be anything more than the handy, pocket-sized reference that it is.

Better than a web search!

This is an excellent pocket guide. It is concise and up to date. I am a software development student, and this book has helped me to answer other students' questions. Just last week, I found the right style property to complete a lab excercise in a few short moments, using this pocket reference -- my friend had been struggling with online resources for minutes. I remembered that this book was in my bag, and zowie! Problem solved. I am just learning web development, but from my perspective, I cannot see why this book could be worthy of a score less than five. The cost- and size-to-benefit ratio of this book is incomparable. I am new to software and web development, but not to technology, and this review comes from the heart of someone with bookshelves full of how-to guides.

Useful for the casual front-end programmer

As a backend programmer that sometimes needs to deal with the front-end, I found this book very useful. Just reading all the titles of the book gives you some ideas of all the capabilities of CSS3. I don't give 5 stars only because: 1. Is a bit outdated. 2. No reference to compatibiliy between browsers (-moz-, -o-, -webkit-).

About the Author
V. S. Ramachandran is Director of the Center for Brain and Cognition and Distinguished Professor with the Psychology Department and Neurosciences Program at the University of California, San Diego, and Adjunct Professor of Biology at the Salk Institute. Ramachandran initially trained as a doctor and subsequently obtained a Ph.D. from Trinity College at the University of Cambridge. Ramachandran's early work was on visual perception but he is best known for his experiments in behavioral neurology which, despite their apparent simplicity, have had a profound impact on the way we think about the brain. He has been called "The Marco Polo of neuroscience" by Richard Dawkins and "The modern Paul Broca" by Eric Kandel.

In 2005 he was awarded the Henry Dale Medal and elected to an honorary life membership by the Royal Institution of Great Britain, where he also gave a Friday evening discourse (joining the ranks of Michael Faraday, Thomas Huxley, Humphry Davy, and dozens of Nobel Laureates). His other honors and awards include fellowships from All Souls College, Oxford, and from Stanford University (Hilgard Visiting Professor); the Presidential Lecture Award from the American Academy of Neurology, two honorary doctorates, the annual Ramon Y Cajal award from the International Neuropsychiatry Society, and the Ariens-Kappers medal from the Royal Netherlands Academy of Sciences. In 2003 he gave the annual BBC Reith lectures and was the first physician/psychologist to give the lectures since they were begun by Bertrand Russel in 1949. In 1995 he gave the Decade of the Brain lecture at the 25th annual (Silver Jubilee) meeting of the Society for Neuroscience. In 2010 he delivered the annual Jawaharlal Nehru memorial lecture in New Delhi, India. Most recently the President of India conferred on him the second highest civilian award and honorific title in India, the Padma Bhushan. And TIME magazine named him on their list of the 100 most influential people in the world in 2011.

Ramachandran has published over 180 papers in scientific journals (including five invited review articles in the Scientific American). He is author of the acclaimed book "Phantoms in the Brain" that has been translated into nine languages and formed the basis for a two part series on Channel Four TV (UK) and a 1 hour PBS special in USA. NEWSWEEK magazine has named him a member of "The Century Club" one of the "hundred most prominent people to watch in the next century." He has been profiled in the New Yorker Magazine and appeared on the Charlie Rose Show. His book, "The Tell Tale Brain" is a New York Times best-seller.

Another steamy winner from Blakely Bennett!

***I was given an advanced review copy of this book***

All I have to say is holy hotness! I didn't think it could get much more steamy than the sexual threesome of Jacqs, Red and Bond....but somehow Blakely Bennett made Lainie and her men (Mason and Stayman "Stay") steamy enough that I didn't need an extra man in the bedroom.

In book #1 of the Bound by Your Love series we meet beautiful Lainie, best friend of Jacqs and clearly holding on to a deep dark sexual secret that she is not ready to talk about. In book #2 we found out that Lainie is having a steamy love affair with Mason, who despite saying he has an awful relationship with his wife, will not divorce her because of the pain it will cause his two younger children. I couldn't believe that Lainie would sell herself short and continue her relationship with a married man...but then I read about their sex life and I was convinced that I would probably deal with his BS too! Mason reminded me of Mr. Big from Sex & the City...smoking hot, knew he was hot, a little cocky, but mostly had an appetite for sex that will never be satisfied. Whenever Mason leaves Lainie always has second thoughts and journals to get out her feelings. I LOVED this aspect of the book, normally we hear the thoughts of a character, but in this case we get more insight into their head because they are writing down their thoughts as well. I think that this was a big part of the reason I felt so connected to Lainie...I could picture myself getting into her situation and be thinking the exact same thoughts.

When all is fair in love & war...is walks Stayman, long time friend of the group and he is determined to show Lainie how she should be treated and what she deserves from love. I am such a sucker for a guy who has swagger, and Stayman definitely has that. He knew what situation Lainie had gotten into, but that didn't stop him from throwing on the charm and trying to win her over. I truly loved everything about his character, he was sweet, spicy, sexy, laid back, but when we got to his sex scenes with Lainie...HOLY EFF was I sold on Stay. It's characters like him that grab you in, take you for a ride and let you never look back and remember who else is around. I loved how he charmed the pants off of Lainie even when she didn't know that she was ready to move on. When trouble in paradise came to a head with Mason, I knew that I would miss his spicy sex scenes...but I didn't even have a chance to recover once Stay took over.

I cannot wait to read more from Blakely, she continues to make the characters relate-able, funny, and sex scenes that will make you need some alone time. Each book that I have read from her I enjoy more and more! If you loved Jacqs' story...you will LOVE Lainie's story!

Just in love with the series!!! Great book by Author Blakely Bennett!!

Best erotic romance!!!!! Wow Blakely Bennett is an extraordinary writer. The emotional responses displayed by her characters are very realistic. It amazes me how "truth," can be found in fiction.

Bittersweet Deceit is the second novel in the Bound by Your Love series, although this is truly a stand alone book, you will definitely enjoy reading Stuck in Between, the first book written in the series. #nonprudesonly. This series projects an aura of passion, sexual exploration/liberation and intense love. All with easily identifiable characters.

So in this amazing story, Lanie, a beautiful full figured women, has fell into a one-sided affair. Her giving fully of herself to a partner that's only capable of giving bits and pieces of himself. Unfortunately, Lanie convinces herself this is enough until one day her blinders are ripped off. Thankfully, she has a good friend, Stay, to see her through this horrendous ordeal. Stay's handsome looks and charming ways makes it hard to resist him. But he wants more than a beneficial friendship, something Lanie believes she just can't supply regardless of the chemistry they share. Just like her friend Jacqs, Lanie finds herself, stuck between two men, however she knows she must love one and leave the other.

Ding-Ding-Ding!! Folks, we have a winner!

The second installment of the BOUND BY YOUR LOVE series, BITTERSWEET DECEIT by Blakely Bennett is quite the ride on the emotional roller coaster, frustrating at times, but oh so much fun! If you haven’t read the first book, STUCK IN BETWEEN, then do yourself a favor and read it first. Although both books definitely stand on their own, there are a few side stories in BITTERSWEET DECEIT that continue from book one. So, your reading experience will be enhanced if you get to know more about the characters and their situations and that can only be achieved by reading them in order. I totally love the characters in this series; they are a rare treat!

Love, love, love Lainie, but man! She is so na�ve! I really kind of wanted to smack her around a bit just to see if I could knock a little sense into her… Despite her massive lapse in judgment – willingly dating a married man – she really is a good person; sweet and caring - any man would be lucky to have her. Lainie is in deep with said married man, Mason – he is a total douche-bag; successfully feeding her a truckload of bull shitake and she rolls around in his BS like a happy little piggy.

You might remember Stay from book one; he is a total doll. Excellent boyfriend material and he only has eyes for Lainie, but she is blinded by the feelings she has for Married-Mason. Stay is a patient man and nothing if not persistent – in a quiet and unassuming way he slowly worms his way into Lainie’s heart. I LOVED Stay’s story – author Blakely Bennett might have created the perfect man when she concocted Stay, but underneath all that sweetness and patience, he’s a God among men in the bedroom. I mean HOT DANG! He’s definitely got a special talent in the bedroom – and he has a shockingly dominant side that pleased me to the core!

Common theme in the BOUND BY YOUR LOVE series (so far) is the love-triangle – done very well, I might add! BITTERSWEET DECEIT is definitely a winner in my book – it was practically perfect! Should We Live With Disease?

To begin with, as there are many books out on epidemic disease, I shall indicate which diseases this one covers, so as to allow the reader to see if his favorite scourges are present. They are: Aids, influenza, leprosy, malaria, plague, smallpox, sphyillis, tuberculosis and the Irish potato fungus.
Nikiforuk's book is both informative and funny. It is short and easy to read in a sitting. Each chapter gives a brief history of the disease and describes its impact on humanity and civilization. The author includes many horrific descriptions of suffering victims, sure to chill any reader.
I took issue with his thesis, however, that disease is mainly an environmental problem, created by changes in human population and living habits. The argument is fine to a point, but Nikiforuk goes too far when he attacks the germ theory. For epidemic diseases are caused by germs! We advance humanity every time we conquer one of these micro organisms. Changes in lifestyle and hygiene can only take us so far. In fact, population is rising largely because we have defeated disease. He seems to yearn for an earlier age when epidemics kept civilization in its place. At one point he even blames the million killed in the Sri Lanken civil war on the eradication of malaria! Population pressure apparently. He says we should live with germs but one must wonder just how much smallpox and aids we wish to live with. As I see it, mankind must continue to fight these 'germs' in every way possible

Grim Warning for Mankind

In his Short History of Epidemics, Plagues,Famine and Other Scourges, Andrew Nikiforuk makes the point that all the major diseases of history have been caused not by a single "germ theory" but as the result of humanity's misuse of the planet and its resources.
The world as we know it is surrounded by a "superorganism" of bacteria, viruses, and fungi that normally interacts just fine with man. However when man, through his actions, throws off the balance the superorganism reacts in lethal ways.
The book gives one lots of trivia on some of the great killers of our time.Spotlighted are malaria, leprosy, bubonic plague, smallpox, the flu and even AIDS.Nikiforuk treats all these diseases in a matter of fact way and even injects his own gallows humor in the telling.
Some of the material seems somewhat dated (especially concerning the AIDS material) but all in all this is a short volume that speaks to man's interaction with his environment. It may not be pleasant reading throughout but it is rather necessary. The book's final message is that the Fourt Horseman always takes his quarter and unless man changes the way he uses the resources given him he can always expect disease to be close behind.

Plague, pestilence and epidemics: past, present and future.

Plague, pestilence, epidemics, pandemics; death by bacteria and virus: the inevitability of it all! Thanks to the author of this all too readable overview of death by microbe I'll never look at agriculture, urbanization, immigration, or anything else again without wondering how it affects or is affected by plague et al. I'm not sure this book is for anyone who wants to live anywhere but in a sealed sterile envirnment but it was very thought-provoking and pointed me toward several other books on the subject. Well worth the reading. It certainly made me look at my resident mice differantly- EEEK, a mouse, run!
