A beautiful well made Bible enhanced by a vast array of articles written by giants of the Faith.

This is one of my favorite Bibles, not as a study bible (for it is not) but a reading and devotional Bible. It is very well made, beautiful and elegant with its excellent leather, gold trim pages and green and yellow ribons. It is very "handy" feeling very conformed to your hand when holding it. The print is very readable and it has headings to find easily important sections. The words of Christ are NOT in red. It has a concordance,cross reference scriptures and some nice Bible helps and maps. Also, specific scriptures are color coded to whether they are discussing, Prayer, Healing, The Holy Spirit,Faith or Presence of GOD.
What makes this Bible unique are the articles that coincide with the scriptures your reading. These articles are written by some of the giants of our Faith in Christ and add so much to this Bible. The names include but are not limited to Spurgeon, Wigglesworth, Torrey, Kuhlman, John G Lake, Simpson, Wesley,Finney,Guyon, Murray and Himn...to name a few. The articles are color coded too, referring to the same code as above. With this wide array of writings one is exposed to many different hearts toward GOD and their insights. I highly recommend this Bible, it can be your stand alone Bible or go to Bible if you have numerous as I do. I hope this helps and GOD bless you.

Must read for young engineers!

What Every Engineer Should Know About Career Management (What Every Engineer Should Know)

I am a retired engineer with 33 years of engineering experience, and with a son currently attending college and working towards an engineering degree. This book is a must read for any young engineer. The author correctly states that engineering academia prepares the student for the technical and scientific challenges of engineering, but not for the real world. This book goes a long way in preparing a young engineer for the realities ahead of them. By addressing ideas of styles of management, personalities of bosses and co-workers, and the organizational politics that can be encountered, the author provides excellent scenarios and anecdotes that are valuable to a young engineer in the process of shaping his/her career. I would hope that the academic community would use this book as a springboard in preparing students for transitioning from their student years to a successful career in engineering.

Necessary reading for all engineering graduates!

He summarizes the life of an engineer to the tee. I wish I had this insight when I first started my engineering career. Better yet, I wish my previous bosses had this book. (I may have to send them blind copies!)

It is an easy read with great anedotes.

I can honestly say I have experienced every situation described here in the 16 years I have been in the engineering field.

Hopefully it will save some of you from the pitfalls, I have fallen into.

This was a good bible study for someone who doesn't know a lot ...

I did this bible study on my own, I actually didn't use the DVD and i may go back and watch later. This was a good bible study for someone who doesn't know a lot about the bible and wants to get a better understanding of how it all goes together. Probably not the best one for someone who is well versed in the bible.

This was a fascinating Bible study for me. It ties the whole Bible together as one "Seamless" story.....It made it easy to understand and easy to read. This book and women's Bible study on this book at my church got me back in to reading my Bible, and understanding how it all goes together. Loved it!!!

Amazing Bible Study

I bought this after hearing so many good things about it from people in our church. I got myself and my daughter one. We are both reading it and doing the study. It is such a simple book that at first I thought what? But we are both enjoying this so much. The Bible doesn't read in chronological order but this study makes it simple and thought provoking. All the lineage gets confusing. This brings it all together. This is a study everyone that wants to understand the Bible more should read. I get something new everytime I read a chapter.

Still a Excellent Reference

As other comments say, this book does sound like a strict teacher from school, however the authors true intention (only my interpretation) is to show you as many different ways as possible to achieve the best results for your project. And about her annotations, to me, it is not bad at all to listen to others' opinions, especially who has a lot more experience than I do. But, it does not necessary mean I have to do the same.
I have never seen most of these interesting methods shown in this book. For example, she showed so many different ways to cast on & bind off, including even "Picot point bind off" , or "Frilled bind off", which I found very pretty. Other areas such as cast on, edges and selvedges, seams and joins ..... also comes with variety, and she annotates which selvedge is a good match to which bind off, and etc. Simple summaries are also given to show which meets what purposes. ex; crochet joints for recycling- expected project. Overall, this book is more like a textbook from school. However, I like that style when I am seriously want to learn something.
I was looking for a clever way to bind off my sweater. I knit this with a super bulky fancy yarn which is so irregular in width. None of the binding method I knew did not look good, I was so disappointed. All the books I purchased all in my life (I start knitting since 9.)were very good, but usually show only a limited number of ways to do the things. But, in this book I found many ways that I would like to experiment with.
The other thing which is wonderful about this book is the price. To me, it gave me so much more than I paid. I think this is a very good book if you are, like me, trying to get out of the beginner level at a least amount of budget
Lastly, this may be not for beginners, so many methods shown will probably confuse her/him. I would buy a more basic books, and use this one for extra reference. And all the methods are not necessary explained in details. Intermediate to advanced knitting experience may be needed to understand the instructions.

The Ultimate Knitting Book

Briefly, I am just learning to use this book. It sat on my shelf for quite a while, until I realized I couldn't find information I needed in Vogue Knitting, The Big Book of Knitting, or any of the other popular knitting books. After learning the basics, when you need more complex information on an unfamiliar or obscure technique, this book is more likely to have it than the newer, flashier, and more expensive books. The number of options she offers for any given technique is astounding, and once you get over the feeling of being overwhelmed with too much information, you begin to appreciate the differences and are able to make an informed choice. This is rapidly becoming my primary resource. I can get the basics out of Vogue, but for more advanced techniques, this is my first choice.

I apologize that this will be a short review, it really deserves much more. This story is very well-written (intelligent AND easy to read). The author gives depth and care to both her characters and the storyline. I highly recommend reading this book, and hope that the author continues to write and publish, as I will certainly buy her books!
