From the Author Connect-the-dot puzzles are a fun, quiet activity that I always enjoyed as a child. As an adult, I found that all the books available were for young children just learning their numbers, with drawings that gave away the final pictures. Being a lifelong puzzle fan, I thought it would be fun to design a sophisticated and challenging dot-to-dot book for older kids. My objective was to create a magical dot-to-dot experience, not only by increasing the numbers and image quality, but also by inventing new and refreshing ways of creating pictures. Adults repeatedly tell me, I used to love dot-to-dots as a kid! One of the most satisfying surprises is that grown-ups enjoy the puzzles as much as kids. It is also exciting to hear of the numerous ways that the books have been used for teaching and rehabilitation. "David Kalvitis has the best set of Dot - To - Dot books you can purchase. The others are cheap imitations and don't come close the "world class" quality David brings to his work. The best thing about David's work is he is constantly fine tuning his craft to make the next book even better.
About the Author
A designer and artist, David Kalvitis has a fine arts degree from Syracuse University where he studied editorial design, painting and photography. He operated a graphic design business in Upstate New York from 1987 until 2000 when he started his own publishing company called Monkeying Around. David is a lifelong fan of puzzles and games of all kinds, and has spent many hours both playing games and designing them. He is pleased to release his products to the public, and hopes they will be fun and relaxing for people of all ages.

Dot to Dot super challenge

This is a cool book. It arrived really fast! Some of the puzzles are a little hard to do, but they are fun. My father mad fun of me, asking how old I was to be doing a dot to dot, so I gave him the book to finish what I was doing (I was on a 2 paged one.). He started it and was trying to follow the directions and said that he had no patience for it, and that is true, you need patience to do some of these. I started to notice that I was able to pick out symbols and the numbers faster and faster the more I did. It made me focus on what I was doing and look carefully because I didn't want to mess up. I think this would be something good to get an older child, 12 or so, probably even a little younger to do. I think it would make them stop and think and probably improve some of their skills over time, and they are fun too!

Anxiety Relief and Perfect For Passing Time

I'm the type of person that has a lot of anxiety and I always need to be moving my hands or doing something to keep my anxiety in check. I have found that doing things like coloring, fiddling with small stress geared toys or playing a game on my phone really helps. I received this book yesterday and I'm almost positive I immediately finished like ten of the puzzles. I love that is it not just your average dot to dot puzzle on every page. There are different types of puzzles to challenge you a little bit more rather than just finding the next number. This book has definitely impressed me and it will keep me busy while I'm traveling as well! Things like this are a very good way to pass the time.

Five Stars for Some, Four for Others

I loved dot-to-dot puzzles as a kid, so I was really looking forward to these puzzles. The completed pictures range from okay to very impressive. The reason for my giving the book one less star is that I was always impressed with a dot-to-dot puzzle that was one continuous line. Many puzzles in this collection have continuous lines for large portions, but only one "No Dot" puzzle is continuous and it is of a less impressive completed picture. I also would have preferred omitting certain styles of puzzle (Field of Dots, Compass, Arrows).
David Kalvitis did a great job - just understand what the book contains. It is probably the best dot-to-dot book that you will find.
