SCOTT BINDER is the co-producer of the popular electro house duo the Banger Bros and is a producer for Warner Music (NL). His song "Beat, Beat, Bang" was featured on The Real World (MTV), and his other releases consistently reach the music charts, including Billboard, DMC, and the Music Week Top 100. Binder has also worked with house legends Roland Clark and Todd Terry. He is the owner of Golden Needle Records, a label launched in 2010.

Not Bad but Misleading Title

This should have been called DJing 101, not "Become the Ultimate DJ"
I have been DJing as a hobby for 10 years but I'm always looking for new reading material and ways to improve my skill. What I was hoping for was a book that was all encompassing of tips, tricks, and techniques that every DJ should know and use. What I found was a simple crash course on how to DJ, but never going in depth on any single topic. The chapters are short and seem like a series of blog posts.
The description on amazon reads "There are books on how to become a DJ, books that talk about beatmatching, mashups, how to perform in nightclubs even one that claims it can teach you everything in two hours. Make Some Noise is a complete DJ book that has been created on the cutting edge and goes beyond any current book on the subject"
Sorry but I read the entire book and does not cover anything "cutting edge". That being said this could be a decent resource for beginner DJs who need to learn the ropes, however you can find the same information on DJ blogs and forums.

Good book for a DJ getting started in 2014!

Great book for anyone that is interested in DJing. The difference between this book and many that are relative on Amazon or in a bookstore is that this book doesn't break it down of "here is what you need to do." The author focuses more on what he did and what he recommends that worked for all types of DJ's with different music genres. The best part of this book is the schedule breakdown of how a DJ should break down a week or a day doing something. It helped me better understand how much time each day you really should be giving to practicing, networking, and producing. This is the best how to DJ book so far that I have read. Very detailed!

Become the Ultimate DJ!

So, check this...I wanted to be a successful Producer/DJ and was producing a bunch of tracks at the time, but had yet to make any connections in the industry, nor spend much time learning the art of DJ'ing. A friend of mine & I were talking and he said he heard an amazing DJ at Burning man. I looked him up and saw he had recently published a DJ book. I grabbed a copy "Make Some Noise" and began reading. Before I finished the book I'd already emailed the writer, twice.
It was exactly what I was looking for. It described not only how to DJ, but the promotional side of the industry, educates you on the major EDM genres, and provides solid direction as to how to manage your goals. It's a comprehensive guide for any rookie to moderately skilled DJ.
BTW I was able to connect with Scott and meet up with him a few weeks later in Berlin and do a 1-on-1 session. He comprehensively answered every question I had. As it stands a year later, I'm successful beyond my expectations and making a living working in the industry. This book kick started my path.
