I had a great time reading this book

I had a great time reading this book. It started out as a project for work as a goal with three parts. The final part consisted of giving a presentation at a staff meeting about the book. I bought boxes of Swedish Fish candy and threw them to the participants to introduce the book and its concepts. I then told them about the Pike Place Market fish mongers and how they changed their work environment. It is a quick read and the principles can be applied to any part of one's life; work, family, organizations. I found immediate results when I chose a more positive attitude and then started looking for ways to "make their day" and "be present." We even play at work now by doing the Hokey Pokey and throwing balls around! If things seem negative or a little flat in your life, try implementing the FISH! Philosophy; you won't regret it.

Quick, Fun and Great Reminder on the Importance of Happy Cultures in the Work Environment

A quick, easy, fun and good read that highlights the importance we all know about attitudes affect on morale and morales affect on productivity, business culture and work satisfaction.
The book is setup as told through a fable such as the One Minute Manager or the Weekly Coach Conversation (HIGHLY RECOMMENDED). This makes the book easy to get caught up in and read through in less than an hour.
The main points to take away are...1)Choose your attitude...2)Play (Have fun at work)...3)Make someone's day...4)Be present... Pretty simple stuff but the book highlights the Pike's Place fish market workers juxtaposed against the culture of the main characters department which is a toxic energy dump.
This book is worth reading, I not sure I would re-read it and the main pionts are the quote/takeaways I'd store in my memory and try to do each day. This would make a good gift or book club for a team or business that needed to finetune or change their culture and behaviors.

Postive and fun to read.

This book is such an easy read and story to follow. Very motivating. This was purchased for my daughters summer reading for her 8th grade ELA class. She said it started off a bit boring but then she really enjoyed it and said it was easy to read and follow. They are writing about how they can use the ideas in their school life as opposed to work. She liked it so I went ahead and read it too. I enjoyed it as well. I think the points were well made and can see where trying to implement the ideas in work or classroom would be awesome. I am a teacher and plan to implement the ideas for my students to use and think about when school starts back in the Fall. I would highly recommend this to anyone who needs to think about motivation for work or home or anywhere. Try these simple ideas and see what you can do. It is a positive uplifting story.
